The old barrel room, Atydgedacht Wine Estate
Established in 1698, Altydgedacht Estate is a family farm where long standing traditions and modern methods blend to create wines of quality and character.
The farm has been in the Parker family since 1852.
Wine
Situated only 15 km away from the Atlantic ocean, the farm and falls into one of the coolest wine-growing regions of South Africa.
This cooler weather means that the ripening period of the grape is lengthened and has the excellent potential for quality wine.
The following grape cultivars are produced on the farm:
- White: Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Hanepoot, Sauvignon Blanc, Weisser Reisling, S.A. Riesling and Viognier.
- Red: Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinotage.
The Tasting Room
RestaurantThe restaurant serves breakfast and light lunches.
Outside seating at the Restaurant
PicnicsThe picnics are on selected Sundays between 12:00 and 17:00.
Wine sales are open on these days.
For the children we have
pony rides and a
make your own cupcake station where they can be creative.
FunctionsIn the cellar is an old barrel room where functions for between 15 and 50 people can be held.

PampoenkraalPampoenkraal is an open air lapa where all cooking is done on open fires, creating a truly rustic African atmosphere.
The main lapa seats a maximum of 160 people.
Starters are plated and served, while the main course and dessert is done buffet style.
