Born2Fish

Born2Fish is an online fishing tackle store offering various fishing clinics across the Cape Peninsula.

The focus of these clinics are to introduce the sport of fishing to children and on marine education and conservation, by utilising good fishing protocol.

This is done by discussing species identification, proper handling of caught fish and size and bag limits.

The clinics available, are:

1 Day Clinics- Children under 13 years

The morning will be spent in an outdoor classroom setting, learning the basic requirements for fishing.

The afternoon will be spent on the beach fishing for the species which were delt with in the species identification class held earlier that morning.

The children will be able to use the knowledge gained in the morning classes and put their new found knowledge to the test.

2 Day clinics- All age groups

The first day will be dedicated to learning the theory of fishing in an outdoor classroom setting so as to get the children closer to nature.

The second day will be the practical from day one where the children will be able to put the theory they have learned into practise and target the various fish species they learned about the day before and use the knowledge gained to perfect the sport.

3 Day Clinic- All age groups

The first day will be dedicated to learning the theory of fishing as well as practical demonstrations and practical applications, eg. hands on bait applications and throwing the cast net.

Days 2 and 3 are used for fishing and live applications on all the theory delt with on Day 1.

This clinic will offer a more in depth look at the practical side of fishing as well as a brief look at deep sea fishing and estuary fishing.
