Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate

Grande Provence lies in the Franschhoek Valley in the heartland of South African wine country.
The 30 hectares provides views of the valley with the surrounding mountains as backdrop.

Framing the entry road, are rows of vineyards, heavy with the promise of next year’s vintage. Here, one bears witness to the duality of old and new where new trees take root amongst the 300-year old oaks and manicured hedges blend with the free form of the natural surroundings.

Wine

The range of wines:

• Red - The Grande Provence (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend), Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
• White - Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Muscat d'Alexandrie (a dessert wine).

The Winery hours

Tastings 10h00 - 18h00 daily.
Cellar Tours weekdays at 11h00 and 15h00, except during harvest.

The Restaurant

The Restaurant and wine-tasting area project an industrial presence with its steel joinery, galvanised metals and modern skylights.

The Restaurant, rated one of the top 10 restaurants in South Africa in 2009, is open daily for lunch and dinner.

The Jonkershuis

The Jonkershuis is an ideal setting for special dinners and functions, small weddings, and boutique conferences. Its private kitchen can cater for up to 30 guests.

The Owner's Cottage

The 5-star graded Owner’s Cottage offers luxurious and private en suite accommodation to a maximum of 10 guests.

The Gallery

The Gallery is a leading location for contemporary South African art.
The selection of artworks exhibited at The Gallery includes paintings, drawings, original prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography and traditional beadwork.

The Sculpture Garden affords space for the exhibition of sculpture by leading and upcoming sculptors from across the country.

The Shop

The Shop provides an opportunity to purchase works by the artists.
On show are furniture, paintings, jewellery, ceramics, glass, sculpture, textiles and a selection of traditional African art.

Luxury Accommodation

Five sumptuous rooms provide a quiet and intimate repose where the tranquility of the lake provides a restful escape for the soul. The Owner's Cottage luxury accommodation is a testament to period grandeur and contemporary luxury.
